APPLICATION LETTERS
A. Definition of Application Letters
Reporting to Cambridge
Dictionary, a cover letter is a letter that you write
to a company when you are applying for a job. A job application letter is a letter written
to a company when a person applies for a job. The letter is addressed to the
company that will choose a cover letter, usually the human resources department
or Human Research and Development (HRD). Through the cover letter, the company
will know about the identity and qualifications of the applicant, as well as
the position to be applied for. Usually, a resume or CV is included to provide
details about the applicant's abilities and experience.
B. The Objective of Writing Application
Letters
According to Colorado State
University, the ultimate goal is to get applicants in the door for interviews
and should be well-written enough to attract the attention and interest of
people who have the power to recommend or give them. The main purpose of the cover letter is to
give the applicant the opportunity for an interview, it must be well-written
enough to attract the attention and interest of the person authorized to
recommend or grant it. In short, a cover letter can make the company interested
in inviting us to the next stage of job recruitment, such as an interview or a
written test.
C. Structure Application
Letters
A. Opening
- Date, i.e. what date to write a letter.
- Recipient information, i.e. information about the recipient of the letter. The contents are the name of the recipient,
his position in the company, company name, company address, and company
contacts.
B. Body
- Introduction. Fill in the full name, what current
position as what (fresh graduate or job), what position to apply for, and where
to get the locker info from.
- Self-promotion. It's time to promote yourself as a suitable
candidate for the position. This section consists of:
- Skills. Call it what abilities you have during work or
organization.
- Achievements. Write down the achievements that have
been achieved, but you don't have to be grandiose. Just tell us about the obstacles you've faced
in your previous organization or job, and how to overcome them. Write is also the best in what way.
- Experience. Write down work experience or organizations
that have lived in before.
- Value to the company. How to give to the company to achieve the goal.
This point can make companies interested in
job applications.
C. Conclusion
In this section, write the conclusion of what is desired
from writing the job application letter. The conclusion consists of:
- Expectations. Close the letter by saying expectations
for the company being applied for. Hope
to be contacted back to continue the next stage.
- Willingness to work. Show a willingness to be dedicated
to the company.
D. Closing
This is the very bottom of the letter. In closing, you need to give
- Sign off. Can write "Sincerely," or "Yours sincerely"
-Signature. Write the signature under sign-off. After that, write the bright name under the
signature.
Attachments. After everything I wrote above is in order,
attach the CV through attachments to be sent to the company.
